Annie is a graduate of UC Berkeley, a former Doublemint twin, and an award-winning author who loves writing for children. The best part of her job she says is “Seeing the smiles on children’s faces after they’ve read one of my books.” Annie has been a published author since 2002 when her first historical fiction novel, Heroical Storicals was written and published by Sonship Press. The book won several awards including a 2007 Moonbeam silver medal for pre-teen fiction. Heroical Storicals Daniel Boone and the Battle of Boonesborough sold over 45,000 copies through “The Annie Winston Hustle!” She was tireless in calling on bookstores and going to schools to talk about her author journey and to sell her books. She laughs about her call to be a children’s author, she says, “It wasn’t her plan to be a children’s author but it was God’s plan and that’s a long story.” Annie raised her three children as a single parent, ghostwriting, giving school talks, selling her books at bookstore signings, and working as a substitute teacher. Annie’s latest book is Bully Buster Journal published in Fall 2020.
